What is Horse Ecology?
Ecology is the study of the system. Horse ecology is the study of
horses in their natural and domestic environments with regards to their
habitat, diet, social interactions, awareness and behavior.
What is a Horse Behaviorist?
A Horse Behaviorist is a person who has studied the natural behaviors
of horses and understands why horses behave the way they do. They often
apply this knowledge to assisting horses and their human companions in
developing positive relationships and solving problems.
What is the difference between a Horse Trainer and a Horse Behaviorist?
A Horse Trainer can be anyone who works with horses. There are no
educational requirements to becoming a horse Trainer. Horse Trainers focus
on getting horses to do things people want them to do. A Horse Behaviorist
is a scientist and usually has an academic degree in equine behavior,
ecology, ethology or a related discipline. A horse behaviorist understands
the natural behaviors and social desires of the horse and applies this to
helping horses and people understand each other.
What are Flower Essences and how do they work?
Energetic vibrations of the plant taken from the flower's energy,
flower essence remedies were originally developed with Dr. Edward Bach in
England during the early 1900's. Although similar to homeopathic remedies,
they differ in that they do not follow the "law of similars." In
other words, they do not become more powerful with dilution. What is
important is that the flower essence contacts the body of the individual
and a rhythm is established. The flower essences work with the vibrations
of the body on a subtle level and thus the rhythm of taking the essences
is more important than the number of drops. Often animals will know which
essences they need and how frequently they need them, similar to how
animals select grasses and other plants when they are sick and they have
the freedom and choice to do so. However, most animals that will be
treated are under human care in a confined environment.
What is the shelf life of Flower Essences?
Usually preserved in a Brandy and water mixture, essences can have a
long shelf life if they are not contaminated with any bacteria. Since they
are vibrations of matter, not matter (the only "matter" is the liquid
substance of water and alcohol), flower essences can be active 15 - 20
years after they are made. Although some essences are made with glycerin
or vinegar, they do not have the longevity of those stabilized with
Brandy.
Why can the same essences used with horses be used with other animals or
humans?
Because all life is connected and all animals experience emotions,
thoughts and consciousness. Flower essences affect the consciousness,
emotions and thoughts of any species and therefore can be self selected by the
animal's own consciousness. They can also be very effective when used with
plants. The energetic vibrations contained within essences affect all
life.
What is aromatherapy and how does it work?
Aromatherapy is based on the therapeutic use of essential oils
extracted from plants. These essential oils may come from the flowers,
leaves, bark or fruit of a plant and are products of the plant's metabolic
processes. The term "aromatherapy" was first used by a French perfume
Chemist named Rene-Maurice Gattefosse in about 1928. It referred to the
affect of essential oils on the body in three distinct modes:
pharmacological, physiological, and psychological.
Aromatherapy in America often refers only to the application and action of
smells on the body, while in countries such as France; Aromatherapy will
refer to the internal action of essential oils as well. Aromatherapy
defined here will primarily relate to the essential oils' action through
smell. The following identifies how smell affects the body.
Odor signals are picked up directly by the "limbic section" of the
brain, immediately releasing many neuro-chemicals throughout the body,
which can trigger an emotional or instinctual response.
With inhalation, aromatic molecules enter the lungs and are absorbed
into the blood stream.
The blood is sent to the heart, which transports the blood through the
body via the circulatory system, spreading the molecules to all parts of
the body.
What are the differences between aromatherapy and flower essences?
Aromatherapy is based on the use of essential oils and the affect they
have on the animal's olfactory nerves as well as the body. In other words,
aromatherapy is based on the affect smell has on the body and brain, while
flower essences have no smell and affect the body and brain through
electronic channels, not chemical ones. Flower essences are "subtle
energy" and affect the animal on subtle levels. Aromatherapy and flower
essences can be combined as they are in our Mystic Horse BALANCE Blend to
create two levels of affect.
What is the shelf life of aromatherapy products?
Since aromatherapy products have a variety of oils in them and each oil
has it's own rate of breakdown, the shelf life will vary. Mot oils will
break down when exposed to sunlight and heat faster than if they are
stored in a cool, dark place. The shelf life of the BALANCE Oil is about
12 to 15 months.
How does Magnetic therapy work?
Proper magnetic therapy activates ions in the body's tissues. This
stimulation moves tissue salts from a state of stagnation to a place of
order within the cells. As a result, fluids flow again, waste products are
removed, and edema and congestion are regulated. As the body's cell
metabolism reverts to its normal balance, blood circulation and oxygen flow
are improved. To learn more about magnetic therapy,

Are there any situations where it is not safe to use magnets?
In general, our Natural Vibrations magnetic products are very safe to
use because they work on allowing the body to select the amount of
electrons it needs. However, magnetic products are not recommended to use
on open or fresh wounds, pregnant mares without checking with your vet and
in the case of infection or unknown disease.
